Alex's Homecoming <3
August 4th, 2011
It's been two months since I've had Alex back home, and boy has it been a whirlwind. We got to have a great long weekend after he got back to get settled back into our life together before I started teaching. Thank goodness we had that because since then we have both been so busy. I started my student teaching and it has been such an amazing experience. I have truly loved teaching, even though it's not my dream grade level. I have a good group of kids and a fabulous CT (the teacher at the elementary school whose classroom I am in). It's so exciting to finally be at this point in my life. For 4 1/2 years I stuck through some pretty boring classes to finally get to this point in my education. I get to be hands on and doing what I love, not just sitting in a classroom all the time.
It is also helpful that there is a group of 20 of us all going through the same thing. We spend 4-5 days a week together, in our little classroom we've made into our home for the 2 semesters we'll be there. There are some amazing people in that group that I am so happy to have met and get to enjoy this experience with. Granted, it's not always rainbows and sunshine. There are some tough days, where you just want to stop and TAKE A NAP! But we survive it together.
Some of my favorites :) Liz, Tara & MAK
So, we're two months in, and two months to go in our first of 2 semesters...whoo hooo!
So, now I come home exhausted. Alex comes home exhausted. And two exhausted, stubborn, easily irritated people do not mix very well. But even through the rough days, I always go to sleep thinking that it could be worse. He could be gone...again. When that thought pops into my head, it seems to make it all so much easier. I am so happy he is home and I am dreading him leaving again...but I WILL NOT dwell on it. That would just be a waste of my energy (or the lack thereof at the moment).
